El XI Campeonato Continental de Asia se está celebrando entre el 4 y el 14 de mayo de 2012, en el First Hotel, en Ho Chi Minh
(Vietnam).
El torneo es una competición por sistema suizo, a 11 rondas. El control de tiempo es de 90 minutos para los primeros 40 movimientos, más 30 minutos para el resto de la partida,
con 30 segundos de incremento por movimiento desde el comienzo de la partida. No se permite ofrecer tablas antes del movimiento 30. La bolsa de premios asciende a 65.000 US$, de los cuales el ganador de la sección abierta se llevará 6.000 $ y la ganadora de la
prueba femenina, 3.000 $.
