Cuatro ganadores en el Abierto de Reykjavik 2009

03/04/2009 – Les ha ido muy bien a los héroes locales en el Abierto de Reykjavik. Los dos líderes de la penúltima ronda, Yuriy Krivoruchko y Mihail Marin, firmaron las paces rápidamente, permitiéndo así que se apuntasen a la victoria del torneo, los dos grandes maestros islandeses Hedinn Steingrimsson y Hannes Stefansson. Estos se apuntaron sendas victorias contra Abijheet Gupta y Sebastien Maze, respectivamente. Al final hubo 4 jugadores empatados con 7/9 puntos en la primera posición de la clasificación: Steingrimsson, Kryvoruchko, Marin y Stefansson. El GM mexicano Manuel León Hoyos ocupó el lugar 36 y el español Jorge Rodríguez Fonseca, el puesto número 103. Partidas y clasificación final...

El Abierto de Reykjavik 2009 se celebra del 23 de marzo el 2 de abril en el Museo de Bellas Artes de la capital de Islandia. Esta organizado por la Federación Islandesa de Ajedrez y la Academia de Ajedrez de Reykjavik. En total participan 110 jugadores, de los que más de un tercio están titulados.
