Argumento
El documental cuenta la historia extraordinaria de las tres hermanas húngaras judías que pasaron su juventud en los años 1970 en la ciudad comunista de Budapest. Las heroinas de la historia son Susan, Sofía y Judit Polgar. Fue el padre de las tres, László Polgár quien tuvo una visión educativa que determinó el destino de las tres niñas antes de que siquiera salieran a la luz del mundo. László Polgár era de la opinión de que los genios se hacen y no nacen. Y quizo ofrecer una prueba de ello. El medio que eligió para su experimento fue el ajedrez. No las mandó ni al jardinín de infancia ni al colegio. Las tres niñas se educaron de forma aislada del mundo normal de los niños, estudiaban y practicaban ajedrez, con resultados sorprendentes y extraordinarios.

"Durante esos cuatro años entrevistamos a muchas personas, nos pusimos en contacto con la gente de todos los archivos posibles y tradujimos docenas de horas de material en húngaro, recolectamos cientos de fotos y recibimos películas grabadas en casa por el padre, László Polgár, y Gusztav Font, marido de Judit Polgár".

El documental "The Polgár Variant" ha sido presentado en diversos festivales de cine: Nueva York, Washington, Londres, Berlín (con la presencia de Judit), Jerusalén, Biarritz (Francia), etc. En breve también se presentará en San Francisco, Australia y Chicago. Será emitido en el Canal 2 de la televisión israelí este año. Además las televisiones de Polonia y Bélgica han comprado los derechos de emisión.
