Timofeev gana la 'Higher League' de Rusia

16/09/2008 – Entre el 2 y el 14 de septiembre se disputó la Liga Superior ("Higher League") en la ciudad siberiana de Novokuznetsk. La competición era una prueba clasificatoria para la final ("Super final") del LXI Campeonato Nacional de Rusia. En el torneo por sistema suizo participaron 56 jugadores, entre ellos 20 con Elo superior a 2600 puntos. La estrella emergente rusa Ian Nepomiachtchi (18 años), tras un buen comienzo, quedó atrás y solamente terminó en el lugar 25 con 5,5 puntos. El vencedor fue el único jugador que llegó a los 8 puntos, Artyom Timofeev. Nikita Vitiugov y Ernesto Inarkiev ocuparon los puestos dos y tres...
