Debido a la derrota de Gukesh, Nepomniachtchi llega al segundo día de descanso con 4,5 puntos como único líder del Torneo de Candidatos de la FIDE. En la sección femenina, Tan Zhongyi mantiene el liderato con 5/7 puntos. Lei Tingjie ascendido al tercer puesto, junto con Kateryna Lagno y ahora está a medio punto de Goryachkina, segunda. Pragg le infligió la segunda derrota consecutiva a Nijat Abasov, mientras que Vidit se impuso a un Alireza Firouzja demasiado osado. Las dos partidas restantes concluyeron en tablas, lo que deja a Gukesh D e Ian Nepomniachtchi empatados en el primer puesto de la clasificación. Pragg se encuentra ahora medio punto por detrás, con tantos puntos como Fabiano Caruana.
