29/05/2024 – Adriana Pachón es una leyenda en ciernes del ajedrez. Con tan solo 23 años ya ha ganado el Campeonato Absoluto Femenino y el Suramericano. Quién diría que aquella niña tímida y determinada, que inició su carrera en el mundo del ajedrez con tan solo 6 años en la escuela del municipio, acompañada por su madre, se convertiría tiempo después en la gran campeona del ajedrez nacional. Quién diría que aquella niña tímida y determinada, que inició su carrera en el mundo del ajedrez con tan solo 6 años en la escuela del municipio, acompañada por su madre, se convertiría tiempo después en la gran campeona del ajedrez nacional. Tal es la historia de Adriana Pachón.
El 2023 ha sido un año de oro para la joven ajedrecista, Adriana Pachón, pues ganó el Campeonato Nacional de Ajedrez de Colombia y además quedó campeona en el Suramericano disputado en Perú, «un torneo muy competitivo, ya que Perú es una gran casa de ajedrez».
Para Adriana Pachón, quien observa y entiende el mundo a través de los ojos de una avezada ajedrecista, el «Rey» (que sobre el tablero tiene un valor infinito, puesto que sin su presencia no hay partida), llevado al plano de la vida representa la familia, el amor de los padres.

Cabe recordar, que Adriana Pachón fue Campeona Mundial Escolar en el 2010 en Turquía. Torneo de ensueño donde disputó una partida de 7 horas, en las que combatió con mucha energía para finalmente coronarse campeona.
Desde muy chica, Pachón, ha salido del país a representar los colores nacionales.
Distanciamiento y retorno al Ajedrez

El amor por el ajedrez es algo que mueve Adriana Pachón, luego de que se apartara un poco del ámbito competitivo por motivos estudiantiles (se graduó como Ingeniera industrial y además es Docente Universitaria), Pachón ha regresado maravillosamente al mundo del deporte ciencia, donde ha destacado.

Quizás la fuerza con la que juega últimamente se debe a esos años donde debió ocuparse de otras actividades, sin dejar de pensar jamás en su querido juego.
¿Sueños y metas?
Mi meta es convertirme en Maestra Internacional y volver a participar en las Olimpiadas.
¿Cuál es tu estilo de juego?
Me gusta mucho atacar; realmente soy una jugadora de ataque.
¿Juegas online?
Muy poquito, casi no me gusta, siento que es diferente.
¿Te imaginas un mundo sin ajedrez?
No, el ajedrez es mi vida, me ha creado como persona, me ha dado la experiencia para lo que soy hoy.
Finalmente, Adriana expresó su deseo de participar el próximo año en el Torneo Internacional Capablanca in memorian, el cual se celebrara entre el 3 y el 12 de mayo, en La Habana, Cuba.
