El St. George's Hall es un edificio emblemático situado en St. George's Place, frente a la estación de tren Lime Street en el centro de Liverpool, Inglaterra.
Este es el 111º Campeonato Británico de Ajedrez, una serie que se ha celebrado casi sin interrupciones desde 1904. La última vez que se jugó en Liverpool fue para el 95º Campeonato Británico en 2008, que también tuvo lugar en St. George's Hall.
El torneo es un suizo a 9 rondas con un control de tiempo de 90 minutos para las primeras 40 jugadas, más 30 minutos hasta el final de la partida y un incremento de 30 segundos desde la jugada 1.
Las rondas se juegan diariamente del 2 al 10 de agosto, sin días de descanso. La acción comienza cada día a las 14:30 hora local, excepto la última ronda, que empieza a las 10:00.
