Pero en las últimas tres partidas tan solo se apuntó un punto de tres. Magnus Carlsen e Hikaru Nakamura, sin embargo, ganaron las tres partidas. Adelantaron a Aronian y fueron declarados campeones conjuntos. Mañana, Nakamura y Carlsen ya se volverán a ver las caras en la contienda de Ajedrez Rápido y Relámpago.

Entre el viernes y el domingo próximos, el club de ajedrez Saint Louis Chess Club organizará un torneo cibernético en la modalidad de Ajedrez Fischer, también llamado Ajedrez 960. Eso signfica que la posición inicial de las piezas será aleatoria. El ritmo de juego será de 20 minutos + 10 segundos de incremento.

Al fin y al cabo, Magnus Carlsen e Hikaru Nakamura terminaron empatados por 6/9 puntos y fueron declarados campeones. Compartieron también el premio en metálico por el primer y segundo puesto, es decir, ambos recibieron 31.250 dólares estadounidenses.
