19/07/2021 – Gracias a su victoria en la última ronda del Grand Prix de Alemania en Dortmund frente a Rustam Kasimdzhanov, Pavel Eljanov se alzó con el primer puesto y se coronó campeón. El gran maestro ucranio había encabezado la clasificación durante todo el torneo hasta la ronda 7, cuando le derrotó Dmitry Kollars.
