Durante la partida, Dlugy jugó un duelo improvisado de partidas de ajedrez relámpago contra Fabiano Caruana. Michael Shuman es el padre de Nate Shuman. Nate tiene diez años y tiene la segunda valoración más alta de todos los ajedrecistas estadounidenses de esa edasd y es pupilo de Maxim Dlugy.
