El evento que ya es un clásico del ajedrez sudamericano, se juega en las magníficas instalaciones de la Intendencia de Montevideo, dividido en dos salas: la Sala Roja en donde se encuentran los primeros 36 tableros con transmisión en vivo y el Salón Dorado donde se disputan las partidas de la mesa 37 en adelante.
