18/04/2017 – Entre el 8 y el 15 de abril se disputó el XLVIII Abierto Internacional "Ciudad de Mar del Plata". Axel Bachmann se coronó vencedor con 8,5 puntos en 9 rondas. Es la segunda vez que gana la prueba un jugador paraguayo, el primero fue José Cubas en 2005. Segundo quedó Andrés Rodríguez (Uruguay) y el maestro internacional Julio Benedetti (Argentina) ocupó el tercer puesto.
18/08/2016 – Se disputaron en Buenos Aires (Argentina) entre el 13 y el 15 de agosto. Diego Flores se coronó Campeón Panamericano de Ajedrez Rápido, por delante de Salinas y Pérez Ponsa. Quintiliano Pinto fue el mejor a ritmo relámpago; Salinas fue segundo y Mekhitarian, tercero.
