24/04/2023 – Entre el 25 y el 29 de abril, Salamanca volverá a ser por unos días la capital deportiva y cultural del ajedrez mundial con la celebración del VI Festival Cuna del Ajedrez Moderno. El torneo magistral enfrentará a 8 jugadores (4 hombres y 4 mujeres) en una prueba por sistema de liga en la modalidad de partidas semirrápidas (40 minutos más 5 segundos adicionales por movimiento). El plantel de jugadores es muy fuerte e ilustre: Veselin Topalov, Sara Khadem, Vassily Ivanchuk, Jaime Santos, Marta García, Kirill Alekseenko y Gunay Mamadzda. 02/03/2018 – Anna Muzychuk renunció a participar en el Campeonato del Mundo Femenino en Arabia Saudí porque no quería sentirse “una criatura de segunda”. Desde entonces es más que una campeona mundial. "Cuando por fin pude quitarme el hiyab prometí que nunca volvería a verme obligada a algo por ser mujer", comentó Anna.
