02/08/2021 – Actualmente se está celebrando la Bundesgartenschau en Erfurt, Alemania. Es una exposición de plantas y flores celebrada al aire libre. Cada vez hay otra ciudad anfitriona para ello. El domingo hace una semana, hubo una representación de ajedrez viviente dentro del marco de la exposición. Ajedrez viviente en la Bundesgartenschau de Erfurt

Durante cinco horas, el juego Real era la atracción más llamativa del Bundesgartenschau 2021, en Erfurt (Turinga, Alemania). En total hubo tres funciones del ajedrez viviente, formado por 32 niños y adultos que se disfrazaban de reyes, damas, torres, alfiles, caballos y peones.
Las "piezas" vivientes estaban pendientes de los comandos que recibieron de los ajedrecistas que los "conducían" y realizaron los movimientos sobre el tablero con sus propios cuerpos. Una pieza capturada (en alemán en lugar de capturar se dice "golpear/derrotar" - "schlagen") acudieron dos mujeres disfrazadas de enfermeras y acompañaron a las piezas derrotadas al hacia el borde del tablero.

Por la mañana, el gran maestro alemánThomas Pähtz (el padre de Elisabeth) jugó una partida a la ciega contra la representante del ajedrez para aficionados de la Federación Alemana, Sandra Schmidt. Por la tarde se vieron las caras MI Joachim Brüggemann y la MIF Diana Skibbe, en plan de exhibición. Ambas partidas concluyeron en tablas.
Ajedrez viviente
El ajedrez viviente dio una representación que WGM Elisabeth Pähtz, la mejor jugadora femenina de Alemania, había jugado en Estambul en 2005.

El ganador principal de esta acción ha sido el propio juego de ajedrez. Cientos de visitantes del Bundesgarten Schau (es una exposición de plantas y flores que se celebra cada vez en una ciudad nueva de Alemania) acudieron a ver el espectáctulo del ajedrez viviente.
