14/08/2017 – La historia del Campeonato de Holanda de Ajedrez comenzó hace 140 años, o sea que hace mucho tiempo. La ciudad de Dieren no solo fue anfitriona de la primera edición, sino que también ha sido sede durante los últimos 49 años. una ciudad con un palacio, en los Países Bajos, y en el palacio vivía un rey. Supongo que ustedes conocerán el nombre de Max Euwe, el gran rey del ajedrez holndés. Nació hace mucho tiempo, aunque quizá no tanto como suele ser el caso en los cuentos normalmente. Desde luego, Max Euwe ha sido una persona real y hay sitios como la plaza de Max Euwe en Ámsterdam que rinden homenaje a sus logros sobre las 64 casillas.

En esta ocasión 508 personas acudieron a Dieren para competir.
