23/06/2021 – El XLVIII Festival de Ajedrez de Dortmund se disputará entre el 13 y el 18 de julio de 2021. En Dortmund no solamente saben jugar al fútbol. El ajedrez igualmente tiene una larga tradición en la metropolis de la región del Ruhr. La historia comenzó en 1972, cuando Dortmund presentó una puja por ser anfitriona del duelo por el campeonato del mundo entre Boris Spassky y Bobby Fischer. Uno de los puntos culminantes extraordinarios será el duelo amistoso entre los ex campeones Vishy Anand y Vladimir Kramnik. En las cuatro partidas del duelo será prohibido enrocarse. En la 48ª edición de los "Dortmunder Schachtage" (Días de Ajedrez de Dortmund), los dos ex campeones del mundo de ajedrez, Vladimir Kramnik y Vishy Anand darán un brillo especial a este acontecimiento. Van a disputar un duelo experimental en la modalidad "no castling" (está prohibido enrocarse). La idea es, crear partidas especialmente vivas y reducir la cantidad resultados que concluyan en tablas. Anand y Kramnik disputarán cuatro partida en ese formato.
En la "Copa de Alemania" se verán las caras cuatro grandes maestros alemanes: Georg Meyer, Daniel Fridman, Dmitrij Kollars y Vincent Keymer junto con otros seis jugadores de la elite mundial. Este torneo se disputa con las reglas clásicas.
Además habrá dos torneos por sistema de liga, la Copa NRW y una Copa Femenina Juvenil.
Previamente al comienzo del duelo presencial en Dortmund, se disputará un torneo abierto a través de internet.
La semana pasada el director del torneo, Andreas Jagodzinsky, realizó el sorteo de los emparejamientos.
