26/01/2012 – En la décima ronda del Tata Steel, Aronian jugó otra partida brillante, en esta ocasión contra Giri, con lo cual ha dado un importante paso más hacia la victoria final. Levon, con negras, sacrificó calidad en un estadio temprano de la partida para lograr compensación a largo plazo. Mediante unas maniobras muy originales en el medio juego y un ataque letal al final, se apuntó la victoria y ahora es líder en solitario con 7,5 puntos, a falta de las tres últimas rondas. El segundo de la clasificación es Ivanchuk, que tiene un punto menos que Aronian, tras su triunfo de ayer con negras contra Navara. Los otros dos enteros en el grupo A también los cosecharon las negras: Caruana venció a Topalov tras una apertura provocadora y Kamsky se impuso a Karjakin en una Española. Poco le faltó a Van Wely para entrar en esa categoría contra Radjabov, pero quedaron en tablas, al igual que Nakamura y Carlsen y Gelfand - Gashimov. El LXXIVTorneo Tata Steel se celebra entre el 14 y el 30 de enero de 2011, en Wijk aan Zee (Holanda) Consta de tres pruebas principales. Se juegan por el sistema de liga en el tradicional De Moriaan Center de Wijk aan Zee. Los tres grupos de grandes maestros tienen 14 jugadores. Todas las rondas comienzan a las 13:30 horas, excepto la última del 29 de enero, que comenzará a las 12:30 horas. Los días de descanso son: 18, 23 y 26 de enero. Ritmo de juego: el control de tiempo es de 100 minutos para 40 movimientos, seguidos por 50 minutos para 20 movimientos y luego 15 minutos para las jugadas restantes con 30 segundos de incremento por cada jugada desde la primera.
