10 años de TV ChessBase
"¿Nos escuchan?" Así o algo parecido sería como comenzó la era de TV ChessBase desde el estudio de grabaciones en la sede de ChessBase en Hamburgo. A veces algo no funcionaba bien del todo; hubo problemas de ancho de banda; se arrancó algún cable de la pared o la emisión fue iniciada desde una sala equivocada en el servidor.

"¿Nos pueden ver?". Así todavía suelen empezar las emisiones hoy en día, aunque ahora la técnica ya funciona muy bien y los presentadores cuentan con muchos años de experiencia. Pero es casi una costumbre empezar con esas palabras, una especie de saludo al público.

Hubo dos acontecimientos legendarios: la Olimpiada de Ajedrez de Dresde, en la que los personajes conocidos y celebridades desfilaron por el estudio de ChessBase (la estrella de fútbol Felix Magath, el árbitro Lothar Schmid; el comentarista de televisión Vlastimil Hort, el seleccionador alemán Uwe Bönsch y muchos más)

Además hubo una emisión que se realizó justo antes del comienzo del concierto del grupo alemán de música pop-rap "Die Fantastischen Vier" en Leipzig. El cantante del conjunto, "Smudo" y "Thomas D.", que también juegan al ajedrez, se sentaron delante de la cámara de TV ChessBase. Quizá sea buena medicina contra el miedo escénico.
