Los tres torneos principales del Abierto Aeroflot 2020 son los grupos A, B y C. El torneo se disputa por sitema suizo, a nueve rondas.
En paraleo además se dispuarán un torneo abierto y un torneo de ajedrez relámpago.

En el Campeonato del Mundo Juvenil, en octubre de 2019, Aydin Suleymanli ganó la sección sub-14 con un punto de ventaja frente a los demás. Actualmente está jugando muy bien en el Abireto Aeroflot y forma parte del grupo de líderes.
