07/11/2003 – Una competición de bicicletas, un viaje en barco, una hermosa puesta de sol y mucho ajedrez. Así fue el Curaçao International Gateway Tournament. Tres jugadores (Gulko, Shabalov y Hübner) empataron en el primer lugar con 6,5 puntos y el torneo se lo adjudicó Gulko, con mejor coeficiente de desempate.
