13/08/2001 – Ayer por la noche (Se volverá a emitir el miércoles en la WDR 3, a las 10:00) se jugó la edición de este año del match televisivo. La partida entre Leko y Anand terminó en tablas, por lo que, según las reglas, el premio se lo llevó Anand, al dirigir las piezas negras.
