Anna: asesina y ajedrecista
Anna es una película francesa de suspenso y acción escrita, producida y dirigida por Luc Besson, uno de los directores de cine más exitosos de Francia de los últimos tiempos. Otras películas suyas han sido, por ejemplo, la primera: "Subway" (1985), "Nikita" (1990), "Léon: the Professional" (El perfecto asesino) (1994), "El quinto elemento" (1997) o "Lucy" (2014), y también "Arthur y los Minimoys" (tres películas 2006-2010).
La película "Anna" es protagonizada por Sasha Luss como asesina profesional y ajedrecista. Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy, Helen Mirren y Alexander Petrov también protagonizando.
La película fue estrenada en cines en Estados Unidos el 21 de junio de 2019 por Summit Entertainment y el 10 de julio de 2019 por Pathé, en Francia. Recibió críticas mixtas de los críticos y recaudó $30 millones en todo el mundo.
Alex Tschenkov ha entrenado a Anna a ser agente secreta y la recomienda a su jefa, Olga (Helen Mirren).
"Tiene las mejores notas. Además ha derrotado a todo el mundo en el ajedrez".
Olga no está convencida tan fácilmente:

Pero entonces Olga se derrita cuando Anna es capaz de citar de "La Gaviota" de Anton Chéjov. La Gaviota es la obra de teatro favorita de Olga y más adelante incluso desarrolla una relación casi maternal con su agente, Anna.
Anna demuestra su destreza en varias misiones y la mandan a París, donde hace como si fuese modelo, pero en realidad está llevando a cabo una misión letal. Pero no lo tiene fácil, porque el agente secreto de la CIA, Leonard Miller (Cillian Murphy) le está empezando a descubrirla.

Anna queda expuesta a la CIA y tiene que trabajar como doble agente para sobrevivir, aunque su deseo más grande es dejarlo todo. La CIA ordena que Anna debe matar al agente de la KGB, Vasiliev, quien ha sido responsable por la persecución y la muerte de muchos agentes estadounidenses. Una tarea que parece imposible. Pero de pronto, Anna recibe el apoyo de una persona inesperadamente y encima puede aprovecharse de sus conocimientos de ajedrez.
