27/01/2015 – El club de ajedrez de Florianópolis recientemente organizó el abierto de ajedrez Floripa 2015 en la referida localidad brasileña. Participaron 278 jugadores, entre ellos varios grandes maestros, con lo cual fue el abierto más grande de Brasil. Se disputó también el Magistral Floripa. El GM uruguayo ganó ambas pruebas en Florianópolis...

Abierto de Floripa 2015
Floripa es la abreeviatura que suelen utilizar los brasileños para designar a Florianópolis, al igual que Río de Janeiro muchas veces se abrevia con "Río".

La bolsa de premios ascendió a 6.000 US $ y los jugadores se podían clasificar para dos plazas en las semifinales del Campeonato de Brasil, especialmente interesante para los 30 jugadores titulados, entre ellos 5 grandes maestros y 20 maestros internacionales.

En la cima de la lista de los favoritos figuraban los dos grandes maestros Axel Bachman (Elo 2629, de Parguay) y Neuris Delgado (Elo 2604, Cuba), pero finalmente fue GM Andrés Rodríguez de Uruguay quien se coronó campeón de ambas competiciones. Posteriormente, Rodríguez comentó que cuando se había inscrito para el torneo que no sabía que se iba a ver las caras con unos oponentes tan fuertes.
El ritmo de juego era de 90 minutos por partida, más 30 segundos de incremento por jugada.

Tras diez rondas, cuatro jugadores iban con 7,5/9 puntos. GM Andrés Rodrígue, MI Roberto Molina, GM Everaldo Matsuura y GM José Fernando Cubas. A continuación había 8 jugadors empatados por 7/9 puntos con lo cual todavía podía pasar cualquier cosa. Los jugadores acababan de jugar una ronda por la mañana y todo se iba a decidir en la última ronda que se disputaría por la tarde.
Está claro que los primeros tableros estaban en el foco de la atención del público dado que la victoria de cualquiera de ellos en su respectiva partida podría significar que se iba a coronar campeón. Mientras que Molina y Cubas firmaron tablas, GM Rodríguez jugó una partida muy creativa contra GM Matsuura y se alzó con la victoria también del torneo, dejando el marcador final en 8,5/10.
La mayoría de los participantes del abierto de Floripa se iban para casa al día siguiente y solamente se quedaban los 10 jugadores más fuertes para enfrentarse en un torneo de liga. Aunque GM Rodriguez obviamente estaba en forma, también podría haber pasado que se sentiría agotado tras el primer desafío y el favorito del torneo era el paraguayo, GM Delgado (2604).
Pero nada de cansancio: Rodríguez no pude ser frenado y se coronó vencedor también del torneo magistral triunfando con 6,5/10 puntos y sumando 40 puntos Elo para el próximo escalofón FIDE.
