El Campeonato de Holanda Femenino se disputó como torneo a doble vuelta con cuatro jugadoras. Finalmente se coronó Campeona de Holanda Eline Roebers.
En la sección abierta (en la que únicamente participaron jugadores masculinos), se disputó por sistema eliminatorio con 13 jugadores. Anish Giri y Jorden van Foreest fueron los dos finalistas. La primera partida concluyó en tablas y a continuación Anish Giri ganó el duelo de desempate jugando con las piezas negras.

Las dos partidas clásicas fueron decepcionantes. En la primera, en la que Giri jugaba con blancas, se plantearon una defensa italiana que concluyó en tablas tras 25 movimientos.
En la segunda partida, volvieron a jugar la italiana, aunque esta vez Jorden van Foreest tenía las piezas blancas. Al final, el resultado fue el mismo: tablas, esta vez tras sólo 23 movimientos.
Al parecer, ambos jugadores querían un desempate para decidir el encuentro.
En la primera partida de desempate, en la que Giri jugaba con blancas, hubo otra italiana y otras tablas, pero duró mucho más que las dos partidas clásicas. Después de 77 movimientos, los jugadores firmaron tablas. En un final de torres, Jorden van Foreest tenía un peón de ventaja, pero eso no fue suficiente para ganar.
En la segunda partida del desempate, Jorden van Foreest "sorprendió" a su rival al optar por la española y no por la italiana. En una anti-Berlín con d3, Giri animó las cosas enrocandose en el flanco de dama. Llegó a un final ganado, pero de repente tenía una posición perdedora y tuvo que luchar por mantener las tablas. Pero ahora le tocaba a van Foreest regalar la victoria, por lo que esta partida también acabó en tablas.
Hubo que disputar dos partidas de desempate más. Tras una partida española con blancas en la segunda partida, Jorden van Foreest volvió a la Italiana en la tercera, pero sin éxito. Giri ganó una partida unilateral.
Unas tablas en la cuarta partida de desempate le garantizó el título de "Campeón de Holanda 2023" a Anish Giri.
