El formato del "Death match 2.0":
Una de las intenciones de ChessBase India con este tipo de duelo es hacer disfrutar a los ajedrecistas de todos los diferentes formatos de juego que existen en el ajedrez ajedrez. Por lo tanto, el duelo contará con las modalidades siguientes de juego: ajedrez a la ciega, Ajedrez960, ajedrez sin enroque, rápido, relámpago y bala (bullet). Así se van a poner a prueba todo tipo de habilidades ajedrecísticas de los contricantes. La partida de la muerte 2.0 es entre D. Gukesh y Arjun Erigaisi se disputará por el siguiente formato:
Segmento 1: segmentos originales (80-90 minutos)
Partida 1 - partida a la ciega
Ritmo de juego: 7 minutos + 5 segundos de incremento a partir del primer movimiento.
Partida 2 - Ritz (una mezcla de ajedrez rápido y relámpago (rapid + blitz = ritz)
Ritmo de juego: de 7 minutos, más 2 segundos de incremento por movimiento.
Partida 3 - Prohibidas las tablas:
Ritmo de juego: 7 minutos, más 2 segundos de incremento por movimiento.
Partida 4 - Ajedrez 960/Ajedrez Fischer:
La posición inicial será aleatoria (Ajedrez Fischer). Ritmo de juego: 77 minutos, más 2 segundos de incremento por movimiento.
Puntos por segmentos originales: cada partida de este segmento vale 3 puntos (por una victoria), 1 punto (por unas tablas), cero puntos por una derrota.
Segmento 2 - segmento de ajedrez relámpago (60 minutos)
Segmento 3 - segmento bullet (30 minutos)
Segmento 4 : Armageddon (= partida a todo o nada, de ser necesaria)
Reglas adicionales
Los colores se decidirán por sorteo previamente a la primera partida de la batalla. En caso de que haya varias partidas en una ronda, los jugadores tendrán que jugar con colores opuestos (por ejemplo, si Gukesh juega con blancas en la partida - 1 de la ronda de ajedrez relámpago 1, jugará con piezas negras en la partida 2 de ajedrez relámpago 1 y así sucesivamente). Si las puntuaciones quedasen empatadas y si fuese necesaria una partida a todo o nada, se realizaría otro sorteo. El ganador del sorteo podrá elegir el color de piezas.
Tablas prohibidas No está permitido ofrecer tablas. Aquella personas que ofrezca tablas no obstante, perderá la partida.
