El argentino Mareco y el lituano Rozentalis jugaron una Defensa Bogoindia muy compleja con sacrificios de calidad, tras la que las blancas perdieron por tiempo en posición inferior.
El número 1 de Paraguay Bachmann empató con cierta rapidez conduciendo las negras ante el chileno Morovic, fue un Gambito de Dama Variante Tarrasch, donde, en opinión de Morovic, la ventaja de tiempo de Bachmann compensaba la leve superioridad blanca.
