se disputó entre el 16 y el 29 de julio, con diversas actividades:
Torneo Magistral (suizo, 11 rondas); Torneo Principal (suizo, 9 rondas); un
torneo de partidas rápidas y otro de ajedrez relámpago, ajedrez 960,
juvenil, simultáneas, tenis-ajedrez, seminarios de entrenamiento de ChessBase...
El mayor interés lo acapara el Torneo Magistral Accentus con 6 grandes
maestros muy fuertes que disputaron una liga a dos vueltas: Magnus Carlsen, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexei Shirov,
Fabiano Caruana, Alexander Morozevich y Yannick Pelletier.
Los participantes: Caruana, Pelletier, Shirov, Carlsen, Morozevich, Vachier-Lagrave
Ritmo de juego: 2 horas para 40 movimientos, luego 1 hora para 20 jugadas y
15 minutos para el resto de la partida, con 30 segundos de incremento por jugada.
El sistema de puntuación es de 3 puntos por victoria, 1 en caso de tablas
y nada si se pierde. No se permite ofrecer tablas antes de la jugada 30.

Alexei Shirov y Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, que estaban igualados a puntos (11/9)
y compartían los puestos tercero y cuarto tras nueve rondas se mostraron
satisfechos siguiendo una partida de 2009 entre Topalov e Ivanchuk durante once
jugadas. La Catalana Abierta parecía interesante, pero ninguno de ellos
consiguió ventaja y la partida concluyó en tablas tras la repetición de jugadas
en el movimiento 21.
Tras su inesperada derrota del día anterior contra Caruana y sin que corriese
peligro su segundo puesto, cabía esperar razonablemente que Alexander Morozevich
optase por un resultado pacífico. Sin embargo, la impresión que dio es que fue Yannick
Pelletier quien no estaba contento con eso. Su partida fue una rara Semieslava
y en el momento crucial el jugador suizo escogió un muy ambicioso
0-0-0 que parecía poco recomendable. Morozevich estuvo a la altura del reto y
demostró porque terminó en segundo lugar con claridad, poniendo un broche final
al torneo con otro magnífico resultado en su vuelta a los tableros.
Fabiano Caruana vs Magnus Carlsen era la batalla de los más jóvenes y de los
que fueron niños prodigio. Fabiano estaba determinado a ganar la partida para
alcanzar a Vachier y Shirov (que habían entablado su partida) en la cota de los
12 puntos y quizás recuperar algunos de los puntos Elo que ha perdido. Nunca
tuvo oppción. Carlsen los sorprendió desde el inicio con una Defensa Philidor,
sacándolo de cualquier preparación que pudiera haber tenido. Magnus rápidamente
tomó el control de la partida y no dejó ni una sola oportunidad a Fabiano. Caruana
tampoco se vio en aprietos, pero era Magnus quien llevaba la voz cantante y las
tablas fueron todo lo que podía esperar el italiano.
