10/10/2002 – Vallejo y Shirov serán los finalistas. En la segunda vuelta de la semifinal, Herraiz lo intentó con una Defensa Francesa, pero Shirov no se apiadó y lo derrotó en 33 jugadas. Más guerra le intentó dar Romero a Vallejo, pero éste se enquistó en una Defensa Berlinesa y la ventaja de Romero en el final no fue suficiente para pasar del empate. Mañana viernes y el sábado tendrá lugar la interesante final entre los dos mejores jugadores españoles del momento. A la página web oficial.
