14/10/2001 – En juego en Cala Galdana (Menorca - En esta sede tendrá lugar la Olimpiada de 2004) desde el 13 hasta el 21 de octubre. La primera ronda deparó el desagradable abandono del equipo de Gran Canaria al parecer por problemas de honorarios de los jugadores. Recordemos que en ese equipo militaban Vallejo, Magem, Comas... Pero Shirov, Karpov, Adams, Cámpora, Suba y otros muchos jugadores de primera fila aún están ahí, prometiéndonos hermosas partidas. La información está disponible aquí.
