03/04/2004 – Alexandra Kosteniuk, subcampeona del mundo, se ha convertido en campeona de Europa 2004 tras imponerse en el desempate a Zhaoquin Peng por 1,5:0,5. La holandesa de origen asiático estuvo en cabeza de la clasificación durante todo el torneo y sólo al final pudo alcanzarla la estrella rusa. En otro desempate la búlgara Antoaneta Stefanova arrebató el bronce a Natalia Zhukova. A la web del torneo.
