28/11/2004 – La final del LVII Campeonato de Rusia Individual, terminó con una victoria muy convincente de Garry Kasparov (Con un rendimiento de 2855), que logró punto y medio de ventaja sobre el segundo clasificado, Alexander Grischuk. Alexey Dreev completó el podio. En la undécima y última ronda hubo lucha en todos los tableros. Tres partidas terminaron con el punto sin dividir.
