II Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Fischer
Del 25 al 30 de octubre de 2022, en Reikiavik (Islandia)
El Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Fischer de la FIDE vuelve con su segunda edición. La final sobre el tablero se disputará entre el 25 y el 30 de octubre de 2022, en el Hotel Berjaya Natura de Reikiavik, Islandia.
En 2019, la FIDE reconoció declaró como competición oficial el Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Aleatorio o Ajedrez Fisccher. En la final de la edición inaugural, celebrada en Noruega, el gran maestro estadounidense Wesley So derrotó al campeón de ajedrez clásico Magnus Carlsen. Tras un paréntisis de dos años por la pandemia, que paralizó a muchos acontecimientos de ajedrez, ahora también se retomará la idea del Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Fischer.

El Ajedrez Fischer es una variante de ajedrez inventada por el legendario Bobby Fischer, campeón del mundo de ajedrez entre 1972 y 1975. Las reglas del juego son las mismas que las del ajedrez estándar, pero la posición inicial de las piezas se determina por sistema aleatorio. Eso reduce el impacto de los conocimientos de la teoría de aperturas y hace que los jugadores contemplen y reflexionen el desarrollo de la partida desde las primeras jugadas.
