La primera mitad del duelo entre Ju Wenjun y Aleksandra Goryachlina se disputará en Shanghai (China) y la segunda en Wladiwostok (Rusia).
En el caso de que al final de la competición el marcador quedase empatado en 6:6, se disputaría un duelo de desempate a continuación, a un ritmo de juego más rápido.
Si las partidas comienzan a las 15:00 horas de la tarde, tal y como suele ser lo habitual, el comienzo sería a las 10:00 CET (hora europea de invierno) para las partidas que se disputen en Shanghai y a las 08:00 CET de la mañana, para las partidas en Vladivostok.
El control de tiempo será de 90 minutos por los primeros 40 movimientos, seguido por 30 minutos por el resto de la partida. Habrá un incremento de tiempo de 30 segundos por movimiento a partir del primer movimiento. Está prohibido ofrecer tablas previamente al movimiento 40.
La bolsa de premios asciende a 500.000 euros. La futura Campeona del Mundo recibirá el 60 % y la subcampeona el 40 %. En el caso de que la decisión solamente cayese en el duelo de desempate, el premio se repartiría 55:45.
