Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Relámpago 2007 en Moscú
La fase final del Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Relámpago, con formato de liga a doble vuelta con 20 participantes, enfrentándose todos con blancas y con negras. El número original de participantes había sido 18, pero los organizadores decidieron incluir también a los dos finalistas del Campeonato del Mundo de Ajedrez Relámpago 2006 en Israel, Alexander Grischuk y Peter Svidler. La final se disputará los días 21 y 22 de noviembre. El lugar del encuentro es el Centro Comercial GUM, Plaza Roja n° 2.

The rate of play is 4 minutes per game for each player, plus 2 seconds per
move starting from move one. The prizes are US $25,000 for the winner, $15,000
for the runner up, $10,000 for third place and further prizes ranging from $7,250
for fourth to $2,500 each for 11th-14th places and $1,500 each for 15th-18th
places. If there are ties in the final standing order, then all respective prizes,
excepting the first one, are equally shared between the players who tied. The
players who are the first, second and third in the final standing order will
be awarded, respectively, with gold, silver and bronze medals.
El primer día de la final
La primera mitad de la final del Campeonato Mundial de Ajedrez Relámpago terminó con un triunfo para Vassily
Ivanchuk, que alcanzó 13,5 puntos en 19 partidas. Ivanchuk derrotó, entre otros, a Kamsky, Kramnik, Karpov, Gelfand, Adams, Carlsen, Shirov y Grischuk.
En segundo lugar quedó Alexander Grischuk, que, por su parte, ganó frente a Anand, Kasimdzhanov,
Kramnik, Gelfand y Carlsen.
