Champions Showdown 2019 "Los diez Reyes"
Cinco jugadores estadounidenses han elegido a cinco jugadores internacionales y los han retado a unos duelos de ajedrez rápido y relámpago. Del 20 al 22 de febrero se disputará la manga de partidas rápidas y los días 23 y 24 tocarán las rondas de ajedrez relámpago. El lugar del encuentro será el the Saint Louis Chess Club. La bolsa de premios asciende a unos 300.000 dólares en metálico y será repartido entre los jugadores. Los ganadores recibirán 36.000 dólares y los oponentes 24.000 dólares, respectivamente.
Por el lado estadounidense jugarán los cuatro jugadores del equipo olímpico que ganó la medalla de plata en Bakú, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So, y Sam Shankland, junto con el nuevo miembro de la federación estadounidense, el cubano Leinier Domínguez.
Los oponentes internacionales serán: el ex campeón del mundo Veselin Topalov, las estrellas emergentes Jan-Krzysztof Duda y Richard Rapport y, asímismo David Navara y Pentala Harikrishna.
