Chess Classic 2004 y Fischer

04/08/2004 – La edición de hoy del noticiario de la Deutsche Welle en español informa que los organizadores del torneo que se celebra en la ciudad de Maguncia iniciarán una campaña por la liberación del ajedrecista estadounidense Bobby Fischer. Parte de la campaña será una carta que dirigirán al ministro alemán del Interior, Otto Schily (socialdemócrata), solicitándole que Alemania le conceda asilo humanitario a Fischer. Los organizadores del torneo de Maguncia se han comprometido a asumir los costos de vivienda y alimentos de Fischer, en caso de que reciba asilo humanitario en Alemania.
