Playoffs: Día 1
Los playoffs del Chess.com Open se disputan del 23 al 26 de abril como un evento en línea que ofrece una vía directa de clasificación para la Esports World Cup. Hasta tres jugadores obtendrán plaza en la EWC al finalizar en los primeros puestos, sin que se asignen plazas adicionales si esas posiciones las ocupan jugadores ya clasificados. Las plazas restantes para la Esports World Cup se determinan a través de la clasificación del Champions Chess Tour.
Participa un grupo de 16 jugadores, con destacados grandes maestros como Magnus Carlsen, Javokhir Sindarov, Vincent Keymer, Nodirbek Abdusattorov y Arjun Erigaisi.
El torneo adopta un formato por doble eliminación. Los encuentros se juegan con un control de tiempo rápido de 10 minutos sin incremento.
En el cuadro de ganadores, los matches constan de cuatro partidas.
En el cuadro de perdedores, los matches constan de dos partidas.
En caso de empate, el match se decide mediante una partida Armagedón con sistema de puja y un tiempo base de 10 minutos, en la que el ganador de la puja juega con negras y gana el match en caso de tablas.
