Se ha regresado al formato cerrado, con 8 jugadores, entremezclándose ajedrecistas experimentados con promesas: Viktor Bologan, Luke McShane, Emil Sutovski, Yannik Pelletier, Miguel Illescas, Hikaru Nakamura, Sergey Karjakin y Alfonso Romero.
