19/06/2023 – Entre el 9 y el 18 de junio de 2023 se llevó a cabo el II Festival de Ajedrez Colònia de Sant Jordi 2023. El MI Aaron Alonso García se ha coronado campeón del torneo cerrado GM por sistema de liga como único jugador con siete puntos de nuevo posibles. Subcampeón quedó el GM Hipólito Asís Gargatagli con 6,5/9 puntos. MF Diego Macias Pino ocupó el tercer puesto con 5,5/9. El torneo abierto internacional fue ganado por Ankush KHandelwal (Ingalterra, Elo 2221). El gran maestro Juan Manuel Bellón y el MI ucranio Oleg Gubanov se ubicaron en lso puestos dos y tres con 6,5/9 puntos cada uno. El torneo Internacional Amateur Open sub-1800 había sido ganado por Jaume Terradas Calafell con 5/6 puntos (terminó el 11 de junio). Open Internacional: se impone Ankush Khandelwal y Anna Cramling es la mejor jugadora
Este domingo se ha clausurado el II Festival Internacional de Ajedrez Colonia de Sant Jordi, el inglés Ankush Khandelwal se ha proclamado campeón del Open Internacional, prueba que ha cerrado el Festival desarrollado del 9 al 18 de junio en Blau Hotel Colònia Sant Jordi. Khandelwal es tetracampeón mundial de Pentamind, una prueba que incluye el ajedrez además de otras cuatro modalidades como el cálculo mental el Go o pruebas de memoria. Segundo ha sido el gran maestro hispanosueco Juan Manuel Bellón y tercero el maestro internacional ucraniano Oleg Gubanov
Anna Cramling, cuyas partidas retransmitidas en directo han tenido en vilo cada noche a cientos de miles de seguidores, se ha proclamado mejor jugadora del torneo. Su canal de twitch ha retransmitido en directo la ceremonia de entrega de premios.
El día anterior se cerró el II Torneo Magistral, que ha sido un rotundo éxito para los jugadores españoles: Aarón Alonso se ha proclamado campeón tras una espectacular serie de cuatro victorias consecutivas que le han válido además su primera norma de gran maestro, el segundo puesto ha sido para el gran maestro español Hipólito Asís, mientras que Diego Macías, campeón de España sub16, completaba una magnifica actuación obteniendo el tercer puesto y su primera norma de maestro internacional.
Asistieron a la entrega de trofeos, Juan Rodríguez, Alcalde de Ses Salines; Apolonia Bonet, vicepresidenta de la Asociación de Hoteleros y Gaspar Guasp, delegado de turismo del Consejo de Distrito de la Colónia Sant Jordi quienes aseguraron que en junio del año 2024 se celebrará la tercera edición del Festival Internacional de Ajedrez
Tras la ceremonia el GM ucraniano Oleg Romanishin ofreció una sesión de partidas simultáneas en la que no tuvo piedad de ninguno de sus catorce entusiastas oponentes.
El II Festival de Ajedrez Colònia de Sant Jordi ha estado patrocinado por el Ajuntament de Ses Salines, Blau Hotel Colonia Sant Jordi y la Asociación de Hoteleros y organizado el Club de Ajedrez Mallorca Isolani.
