Se trata de un torneo por sistema eliminatorio con incialmente 16 jugadores. El lugar del encuentro es la Biblioteca Nacional de Letonia en Riga. Los emparejamientos de la ronda de hoy (cuartos de final, primera partida) son: S. Karjakin - W. So, J. Duda - S. Mamedyarov, A. Grischuk - Yu Yangyi, V. Topalov - M. Vachier-Lagrave.
