13/10/2017 – El duelo del día sin duda fue el enfrentamiento entre Odlar Yurdu y Globus. Hubo muchos vaivenes a lo largo de la jornada. Una cosa estaba clara: el Odlar Yurdu se había propuesto no perder en ninguno de los tableros. Por lo tanto, Guseinov y Abasov en los tableros 3 y 5 no jugaron partidas muy ambiciosas con blancas y optaron por aperturas tranquilas en lugar de arriesgarse. No obstante, los rusos tampoco se mostraron reacios a ese planteamiento y a la postre estuvieron dispuestos a aceptar las tablas en todas las mesas. La Copa de Europa de Clubes se disputa entre el 8 y el 14 de octubre en Antalya (Turquía) con secciones absoluta y femenina. En la prueba absoluta participan 36 equipos, en la sección femenina hay 12 equipos. El ritmo de juego es de 90 minutos por 40 movimientos, seguido por 30 minutos para el resto de la partida, con un incremento de 30 segundos desde el primer movimiento.

Los segundos y terceros favoritos, Alkaloid y MednyiVsadnik ganaron sus respectivos duelos con facilidad frente al Obiettivo Risarcimento Padova y el LSG Leiden.
El Csm Baia Mare y el and Beer Sheva también ganaron sus duelos con mucha contundencia: 5:1 y 6:0. Excepto el Beer Sheva (con 7 puntos), todos tienen ahora 8 puntos gracias a sus victorias en la quinta ronda y no están tan alejados de los dos líderes, Odlar Yurdu y Globus.

En la sección femenina también hubo duelos muy interesantes. En los enfrentamientos del Odlar Yurdu y el Legacy Square Capital, con el Mamedjarova y el Voit, ambos equipos favoritos se apuntaron preciosas victorias. Eso sí, Savina pasó por alto un ataque doble en su partida contra Balajayeva con lo cual el marcador quedó a favor del Odlar Yurdu 2,5:1,5.
