El lunes, 2 de septiembre, se disputará el "Champions Showdown" Se disputará por el mismo formato que en 2018, es decir, se disputarán cuatro partidas por sistema ajedrez Fischer o Ajedrez960. Uno de los ilustres participantes va a ser Garry Kasparov.
El XIII campeón del mundo se verá las caras con el número dos actual del mundo, Fabiano Caruana. El año pasado, Kasparov había perdido su duelo contra Veselin Topalov 14,5:11,5.
