18/05/2002 – Junior tuvo suerte de cara en la tercera partida y logró un empate. Parecía que el Gran Maestro belga iba a ser el claro ganador. Primero ganó un peón, luego una pieza. Pero una inexactitud le dio contrajuego a Junior y Gurevich tuvo que forzar las tablas por repetición de jugadas.
