Hikaru Nakamura sufrió una derrota frente a Domínguez en la quinta ronda y por ello se le han complicado las cosas para ganar el torneo. En la sexta ronda, sin embargo, logró imponerse a Rubén Felgaer y se convierte en el más cercano perseguidor del dúo de cabeza.
