El GM Hans Niemann ha causado sensación con su reciente serie de partidas y polémicas entrevistas. Su clasificación actual en la escala de la FIDE:
Recientemente, el joven y talentoso GM Jorden Van Foreest, con 2700, se reunió con Hans para una sesión privada de entrenamiento. Como Hans estaba enfermo, al final sólo jugaron blitz por las tardes. Jorden evaluó el encuentro diciendo que normalmente, cuando pierde, lo atribuye a un descuido, un error garrafal o algo por el estilo. Sin embargo, admite que, con Hans, a menudo se vio superado por completo. Es un comentario impresionante y nada obvio en boca de un jugador de 2700.
