07/12/2020 – Spassky recibió el homenaje de Argentina. El acto con Boris Spassky fue transmitido en directo por el canal del "Centro Ruso de la Ciencia y Cultura de Buenos Aires" (ex-Casa de Rusia) en donde se leyó, nada menos, que una carta enviada por el mismísimo Boris Spassky, desde Moscú (Rusia) quién está a punto de cumplir 84 años. El Presidente del Club Artentino, Dr. Claudio Javier Dr. Gonçalves comparte con nosotros el vídeo del acto, publicado en YouTube.

A continuación, la misiva enviada por el genial Boris (el original en ruso, con su firma y la traducción al castellano, tal cual fue leída en el acto en su homenaje).
Es muy destacable la diplomacia de SPASSKY (algo conocido mundialmente) ya que su propia salud es muy frágil (tuvo un derrame cerebral en 2006, en San Francisco, EE.UU., y un padeció un ictus en 2012 - Moscú, Rusia -) además de que esta última semana perdió a un familiar directo (su hermano mayor). Con todo esto, tuvo la notable entereza de prodigarse a si mismo, al hacernos llegar esa salutación tan bonita.
No podíamos menos que retribuirle, por tanto
En el mismo acto fue leído (a manera de tributo) el soneto "BORIS SPASSKY" del poeta y ajedrecista, Mariano Shifman.
Queremos compartir con toda la comunidad ajedrecística y cultural de nuestro país, la satisfacción que nos embarga ya que este homenaje - largamente esperado y merecido - al X CAMPEÓN MUNDIAL DE AJEDREZ, BORIS SPASSKY, figura legendaria y protagonista del MATCH DEL SIGLO (1972) fue realizado por nuestro país, lo cual debe ser un motivo de orgullo para todos nuestros compatriotas de los ámbitos intelectuales.
