Domínguez se adjudicó el Magistral de Barcelona

29/10/2006 – La victoria del torneo Magistral Casino de Barcelona se decidió en la última ronda, al enfrentarse los dos primeros clasificados, Lenier Domínguez y Vassily Ivanchuk. Este último, en el caso de que hubiese ganado la última partida, aún podría haber ganado el torneo. Con piezas negras planteó un doble fianchetto muy extraño y Domínguez logró un fuerte ataque, con el que logró la victoria en la partida y en el torneo, alcanzando 8/9 puntos.
