Kramnik al ataque, Caruana gana con clase
El cuarto torneo del Festival de Dortmund 2023 comenzó el lunes. Sebastian Junker, miembro de la junta directiva de Sparkasse Dortmund, realizó la primera jugada en el tablero de Pavel Eljanov y Vladimir Kramnik. Eljanov ganó los dos últimos torneos magistrales en Dortmund, mientras que Kramnik es el plusmarquista indiscutible con 10 victorias en los mismos torneos.

"Por encima de todo, estoy contento de estar sano en Dortmund, me siento muy bien, y estoy deseando que empiece el torneo", dijo Kramnik en una entrevista tras la partida, después de que el año pasado tuviera que retirarse a último momento tras infectars con covid.
Ambos jugadores fueron invitados por el jefe de prensa Patrick Zelbel y ofrecieron interesantes comentarios sobre su partida.
El número 3 del mundo, Fabiano Caruana, también tuvo un comienzo perfecto: tras cinco horas, derrotó al representante alemán y ganador del año pasado, Dmitrij Kollars, en un final de torres.
