El Mundial de Rápidas y Relámpago no se disputará en Kazajastán

08/12/2021 – La razón por ello son las nuevas restricciones relacionadas con la pandemia del covid-19 impuestos por el gobierno de Kazajastán. A partir de ahora es sería obligatorio someterse a una cuarantena de 7 días, lo cual haría imposible la participación a muchos ajedrecistas. La lista de países afectados ha sido ampliada estos últimos días atrás. El gobierno de Kazajastán y la Federación de Kazajistán han expresado su voluntad de organizar el acontecimiento el año que viene. La FIDE está buscando a ciudades anfitrionas alternativas con urgencia. Habrá más información al respecto, a dentro de los próximos días. El comunicado oficial de la FIDE (en inglés).

The FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Championships will not be held in Kazakhstan in December

The reason is the new COVID restrictions recently enforced by the government of Kazakhstan, which impose mandatory 7 days quarantine for many potential participants, making their participation impossible.

The list of countries affected by this measure has been expanding over the past few days.

The Government of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Chess Federation regret the inconveniences caused by this cancellation, and they have expressed their willingness to hold the event next year.

FIDE is urgently examining alternative host cities, and will publish an update towards the end of the week.
