08/12/2002 – Las relaciones entre Alexander Borisovich Roshal, jefe de redacción de "64", y Garry Kimovich Kasparov durante los últimos años no fueron siempre óptimas. La razón parece estar en las discutidas adjudicaciones del oscar del ajedrez durante los últimos años. Parece ser que Alexander Borisovich ha purgado sus errores y la copa ha ido a parar al primero de la lista mundial. En la celebración también se rindió homenaje a los equipos olímpicos rusos.
